Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) is a widely used, highly interoperable protocol for instant messaging (IM). Thing5 offers enhanced XMPP services which allow users to manage their “presence” by easily changing and forwarding phones. Some ways to use Thing5’s advanced XMPP features are:

• Set your cell and office phones ring simultaneously.
• Transfer a call that you are on to a different, ie: transfer a call to your office phone to your cell without any interruption to the call.
• Set phone to ring another phone after a certain number of rings.
