What is SIP Trunking?
SIP trunking (Session Initiation Protocol) is the application of IP-enabled technology to traditional dedicated phone lines or circuits. A SIP trunk is a service that uses SIP to allow communications between an enterprise PBX and an ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider), in a vastly more economical fashion than traditional PRI, BRIs and PSTN gateways.
Benefits of SIP Trunking
- Reduced monthly phone bills immediately with no significant investment.
- Keep current phones and wiring in place.
- Keep current phone numbers.
Thing5 offers enhanced SIP trunking for out-bound and in-bound dialing at a fixed monthly fee. Rather than paying for unused dial-tone, Thing5 charges a flat monthly rate that is drastically lower than that of traditional carriers. As the only vendor certified to attach to the major carriers networks, Thing5 is able to improve the call quality within its data center, and eliminates call quality issues that could be experienced in an unmanaged ISP environment.
